Update on My Book

First, thank you for all the support and prayers as I've been writing my book. I started this in 2020 and have slowly figured out how to write it. The title is Online Church Isn't THE ANSWER: Beyond Just Streaming Church to Hybrid Disciple Making. It's been a slow journey, but it's coming to an end soon. I talked to four publishers and heard the same thing. Great book idea, you are the person to write it, but the audience needs to be bigger. After talking to friends and experts in the field, I decided to self-publish. Not the journey I wanted, but I feel good about doing it now. Really, it's my only option, but at least I tried to get published by one of the larger publishing houses.

I found an editor on Reedsy.com a month ago and just got my edited manuscript. I'm going to take a couple of weeks to review all the edits, and then I'll hire a proofreader to do a final read-through of the book. I have a friend designing the cover, and I hope to have those designs ready in the next few weeks. Lastly, I've been researching how to record my own audiobook. It's pretty straightforward, but it will take some time. I hope to have this book done and out of my life (just kidding) by July 1.

I would love prayers for this last leg of the journey. The book aims to help the average church leader think biblically and better about what is possible with wisely integrating digital into your church. I'm not trying to convince those who already believe in digital but those who don't. Even the title of the book is trying to hook those who may be on the out, but by the end of the book, they will see what is possible.
